Why Press On Nails Are Better Than Acrylics

By Wanna's World

Hair done, nails done, everything did.

Whether you’re a fan of coffin, almond or stiletto, acrylic nails are deemed an instrumental part of the beauty process for various people. Every week the nail salon is filled with individuals eager to get a fill or countless others anxiously waiting to try a new style. While acrylic nails may elevate any look, they can cost up to $150 a set and need consistent up keep to remain looking fly and flawless. However, what’s often left out of the conversation are the adverse health affects that fake nails may cause in the future.

According to various studies (https://www.livestrong.com/article/1004877-acrylic-nails-toxins/) some nails salons still use toxic chemicals such as the FDA banned chemical methyl methacrylate, or rather MMA that may cause respiratory problems and/or skin irritations. Along with these harmful side effects, acrylics may also cause damage to your natural nails over time, causing weak nails beds and ultra sensitive fingertips.

Why are press on’s the better alternative?

A few weeks ago Beyonce slayed #Beychella two weekends in a row with her iconic performances. However, that wasn’t the only thing that had the internet going wild. A fan on social media pointed out Bey’s manicure switch-up during the performance and it prompted hundreds, if not thousands of people to discover the convenience of Press On nails and why they are the healthier alternative to acrylics.

If you’re eager to switch up your nail game and save money in the process, I got you covered with my top picks below.

Website coming soon Mid-May.

With their debut quickly approaching, the following company is all for creating amazing sets with every woman in mind. Their adorable tagline “Come get PRESSED” was enough for me to find out more about this lovely company and all the beautiful designs they offer. My personal favorite is their Turquoise & Black Marble Gold Foil Set.

Maria C. Sanchez is a vet when it comes to Press On’s. Her work has been featured on “Empire”, “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and “Claws” on TNT. Her website is the very definition of Press On nail heaven as she continues to stun with her intricate designs. One of my favorite features is her decal collection. She has lots of cool gems and stickers to choose from to make your nails pop.

Based in Los Angeles, this company is known for their high quality acrylic nails and the multitude of colours and styles they offer. I stumbled onto this page by chance last year and I haven’t looked back since. I highly recommend trying their Chrome set or the edgy Guns N Roses set. You won’t be disappointed.

Note: All of these companies specialize in nail sizing and will help you discover which set is perfect for you. If you’re not sure about taking the plunge online just yet, hit up your local drugstore and test out some Press On’s.
